Stellarator systems engineer
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Systems Engineer with a strong passion for innovative energy solutions to join our team to contribute to the design of a stellarator experimental reactor.
Your main responsibilities
- System engineering activities:
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of physicists, engineers, and researchers to integrate systems code reactor studies and developments, as well as reactor system’s engineering into the model-based system engineering framework.
- Drive reactor integration design reviews and participate in reactor sub-system design reviews.
- Conduct functional analyses to support the conceptual design of the experimental reactor
- Develop and maintain system requirements, interface definitions, and operational concepts within a model-based systems engineering framework, utilizing tools such as design and dependency structure matrices.
- Drive the overall reactor layout, considering the compact dimensions and target performance along with the integration of all the reactor systems (magnets, liquid metal, heating systems, diagnostics, fuel injection, plasma control etc... ) in collaboration with our cross-functional teams
- Ensure the nuclear safety considerations at a system-level, and promote a culture, quality, rigor, and design methodologies.
- Conduct trade studies and risk assessments to support design decisions.
- Support the team in managing the design-construction-operation-decommissioning process in its entirety during the concept design phase.
- Create and review technical documentation, including system specifications, conceptual design reports.
- Collaborate with other research institutions and industry partners on joint projects.
