R&D Workshop Technician
We are looking for a resourceful and hands-on technicians to support the growth of our team and associated experimental activities.
Your main responsibilities will be:
As a member of the HTS team, your role is to assist the engineers in their experimental activities. Depending on your profile, skills and interests, you will work on one or more of the following activities :
As a technical support to the polishing team, operate polishing machines and carry out tests and measurements to provide a perfectly polished substrate ready for thin-film deposition:
- Polish of metals by using polishing methods
- Maintain Equipment
- Perform frequent checks of parts to ensure dimensional requirements are met, inspect parts at different level (macro/microscopic)
- Participate in the development of the polishing technique
As a technical support to the CVD & PVD engineering teams, contribute to the assembly of the structural parts of physical vapor deposition (PVD) and chemical vapor deposition (CVD) machines:
- Assemble the reactor parts: ion sources, magnetron cathodes, vapor delivery system, vacuum pumps...
- Commission the reactors
- Upgrade and maintain the reactors when needed
- Construct structural parts of the deposition systems
As a technical support to the characterization team,
- Prepare samples
- Conduct analyses using existing analysis equipments
- Participate in writing operating procedures
- Maintain Equipment
Requirements

Education and professional experience
- Bachelor’s degree or High school’s + equivalent experience in mechanical engineering, machining or related field
- Experience as an equipment technician, assembly technician or related field
Languages
Fluent in English (C1) with good basics in French and willingness to improve or fluent in French (C1) and conversational English and willingness to improve
Technical skills
- Computer skills (Windows and Office package)
- Knowledge of polishing and machining methods
- Knowledge of methods for characterising materials (AFM, microscope…)
- Knowledge of quality standards
