Electronics engineer
We are looking for an Electronics Engineer to design and implement electronic systems for the on-site construction of large-scale PVD and MOCVD coating equipment and HTS-film characterization instruments.
Your main responsibilities will be:
*Electronics activities
- Design and develop electronic circuits and electrical power systems for machine automation on new large format HTS thin film deposition line.
- Perform schematic capture and PCB layout using industry-standard tools, ensuring compatibility with HTS materials and automation requirements.
- Prototype and iterate on electronic designs for HTS test and materials characterization.
- Conduct thorough testing and validation of electronic systems, considering the unique characteristics of HTS materials and automation interfaces.
- Document design specifications, test procedures, and results in compliance with industry standards and regulations, hold regular design reviews.
- Collaborate with automation, mechanical design, and process engineers to ensure electronic designs meet functional specifications and safety standards.
- Troubleshoot sensors and instruments used for the characterization of HTS samples.
- Contribute to improvements in process control of PVD and MOCVD machines and in-house HTS characterization of wide tapes
- Develop novel solutions and contribute to new intellectual property.
*Scientific communication and monitoring
- Prepare scientific reports (presentations, posters, etc.) and represent Renaissance Fusion to scientific conferences and workshops.
- Participate in the writing of scientific papers.
- Remain on the lookout for any scientific developments in his/her field of expertise.
You are the ideal profile if:
*Education and professional experience
- PhD or Master’s degree in electronics, electrical or mechatronic engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of professional experience in electronics design and engineering.
- Previous experience in the semiconductor and/or superconductor industry and/or in designing physical and/or chemical deposition machines is a plus.
*Language requirements
- Fluent in English (C1/C2).
- Knowledge (B1 or higher) of French is a plus.
*Technical competencies
- Circuits design: AutoCAD Electrical, PSIM, NI MultiSim.
- Data Analysis software: Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB, Origin Lab.
- Materials Characterization: Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM), Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA), X-ray Diffraction (XRD).
- Experience with test bench sensors: Thermocouples, thermistors, strain gauges, Hall probes, piezoelectric sensors, load cells, …
